Ravi is Chief Technology Officer at ThermoChem Recovery International, Inc. (TRI), Baltimore, Maryland.  He is responsible for the intellectual property that forms the basis for TRI’s proprietary technology. He has over 30 years of experience in technology development for efficient energy conversion and reduced environmental impact. He has worked in the areas of steam reforming, pulsed combustion, pulsed gasification, pulsed flow reaction, fluid bed processes including combustion, power generation, fuel cells, treatment of hazardous and surrogate radioactive wastes and drying. He leads process design, scale-up, process simulation, intensification and optimization, modeling, test plan development, sampling and analysis and data reduction. He holds 22 patents and has 10 patent applications in process. Prior to joining TRI, he was Vice President of Engineering at Manufacturing and Technology Conversion International, Inc. (MTCI), Baltimore, Maryland wherein he was a Principal Investigator/Project Manager of many R&D projects.  Research sponsors included the DOE, SBIR, EPA and private companies.  He also worked collaboratively with US National Laboratories and several Universities. Prior to MTCI, he was a Research Specialist at Babcock & Wilcox’s R&D Division in Alliance, Ohio where he coordinated the fluidized bed combustion fuels characterization program. Dr. Chandran earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA. He is a recipient of the ASME Melville medal. He is a member of ASME and AIChE.
